What is Agronomy?
Agronomy is the study of crops and soils.  Its applications vary from crop production and farm management to ecological conservation or reclamation of plant and soil systems.

What is the Agronomy Club?
The Agronomy Club is a gathering together of students with similar interests for the purpose of learning about the agricultural industry and its advancements while enhancing social interaction.  The Agronomy Club provides a chance for students to take an active part in their department through fund-raising projects, social events, and scholastic activities.  As an active member of the Student Activities Section of the American Society of Agronomy (SAS-ASA), the CSU Agronomy Club travels to the National and Regional meeting to participate in various contests and activities. Who can join the Agronomy Club?
Any faculty, staff, graduate, or undergraduate student interested in the agricultural industry is welcome to become active and participate in the Agronomy Club. Does it cost anything to join?
There is a $10.00 dues/association fee for an individual to become a member of the Agronomy Club.  This fee also activates membership into the American Society of Agronomy national organization. However, everyone is invited to attend the meetings. On occasion, there are other out-of-pocket expenses for individuals participating in the National/Regional Meetings or for other special activities.  Fundraising efforts help to defray the costs of these special events. How does one join the Agronomy Club?
Simply begin attending the meetings and becoming active in the scheduled events. Where are Meetings held and How Often?
The meetings/activities/events are generally held in the Plant Science Building on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. unless the time and location are otherwise announced.  What are the activities at the weekly meetings?
The Agronomy Club will often have guest speakers from local ag industries; tour local agricultural businesses; assemble fundraising items:  sunflower seed packets, plant mounts, seed packets; plan and participate in sponsored events such as Casino Night, Chili Cook-off, Bowling Night, Spring Picnic, Ag Adventure for Youth; and discuss plans for future meetings. How long are the meetings?
The meetings average 1-2 hours depending upon the activity. Additional Information
